Alert Bay, BC, Canada

A few years back, we took our kids and a friend of theirs to Alert Bay. A beautiful little community located on Cormorant Island, Northern Vancouver Island. Alert Bay is a native community, where tradition, culture, art and everyday life work together.

We enjoyed using the boardwalk to walk from the heart of the village to the U'mista Cultural Centre. A beautiful walk along with the traditional houses, a church ( you don't want to miss it, it's beautiful inside).

A visit to the museum, of the Big House, of the village on top of the hill .... and our day was filled with so many beautiful images.

We had a coffee at the little coffee shop by the marina named Culture Shock, visited the shop and enjoyed seeing the beautiful native jewelry they offer!!

We slept in this beautiful hotel called The Seine Boat Inn and this is the view from our room: that evening we witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen.

Alert Bay is nature-oriented and known all over the world for being the "Home Of The Killer Whales"

We often go back, for a coffee or just a stroll, every time we do, we love every minute of the visit.
